Instructions

  • Soak the Bread: Melt a generous tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the custard mixture for about 15-20 seconds per side.
  • Cook: Place the soaked bread in the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
  • Make the Glaze: While the French toast cooks, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tbsp milk, and 1 tsp vanilla in a small bowl until smooth.

Notes

  • For the best texture, use bread that is a day or two old.
